I’m sitting in my office, aka the local Starbucks, and met Ming, a digital media specialist. He works in London, Beijing, and the US, so travel is part of his life. We exchanged info on calling internationally and he pointed me to MINO. It’s a VoIP service that works like this. You go to the web site, enter in both the number you want to call and the number you will call from, and they connect you both — anywhere in the world. The rate is cheap at $0.02 per minute.

Of course, with the Vonage service we have now, calls to [most of] Europe is free anyway so not a problem for me.
